The River Lark Needs Your Help
Join us & find out how you can help:
Meet Expert Environment Agency Staff
Experience our River Model Demonstration
Take a Guided Walk of the River
Mildenhall is home to one of the finest stretches of the River Lark but due to poor past management and pressures of over abstraction this part of the river is no longer what it used to be. Find out how you can help restore the river to its former glory.
The good news is that if we all work together we can all make a difference to our river – if you are interested in finding out more, do come to our special Mildenhall event!
Chat to members over tea and bacon butties!
*Stay awhile – Meet active members of the group, get your questions answered and we will be happy to provide tea and excellent bacon butties!
Rob Clapham in the Environment Agency (EA) has the responsibility for the Lark and he will be available to answer any questions on EA support for Lark maintenance and restoration.
What will there be to see and do?
The Environment Agency are bringing their demonstration river model which shows how our river can be improved, by input from voluntary groups such as the River Lark Catchment Partnership.
There will be display stands showing what has been achieved so far –local angling groups have achieved much in getting restoration work underway.
Have a look at what can be done!
RLCP volunteers will show you what could be done to improve the Lark at Jubilee Fields and downstream. RLCP Member responsible for river restoration – Glenn Smithson will lead these.
